Hundreds of inhabitants of Skopje lined up Monday at the church Sveti Dimitrije for icons and frescoes began to shine without explanation, a phenomenon that the priest of this property does not hesitate to describe a miracle.
"It's really a miracle, began yesterday in the central part of the iconostasis, the gold color is very visible and the phenomenon continues," said the priest Dimce Malinov.
The priest explained that the icons and frescoes began to glow, as if they had been carefully and systematically polished by an invisible hand.
"Since this morning I continued to observe the phenomenon, half of the icons are clean. First a red color that turns into gold (...) can see the icons alone cleaned from top to bottom," said the priest .
The head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church (MPC), Ohrid Archbishop Stefan on Sunday visited the church Sveti Dimitrije, the eighteenth century, to observe the phenomenon. The MPC however refused to comment Monday this unusual event.
"People are pouring in en masse and are lining up to see this miracle," said the priest Dimce Malinov.
The exrepública Yugoslav Macedonia is a country of two million inhabitants. Approximately 80% of the population is Orthodox.
